He defines nonsense like this as cultural racism, because it implies that the culture of black people (or women, LGBT+, or [fill in the blank] minority) isn't culture to be celebrated or taught, only the White European culture is worth any of that.
Mr Kendi has it right that such a view is utter rot. "Classics" are in no way limited to the traditional Euro white-male dominated Western canon. Other cultures have their own classics that also deserve representation in our education system.
So instead of teaching Don Quixote or Moby Dick, teach The Tale of Genji. What, it's not a classic because a Japanese woman wrote it 400 years before Cervantes was born, or 700 years before Melville?
