As someone who has dedicated my life to the practice and instruction of journalism, I've opined both privately and publicly, in person and in a blog that the greatest threat to our democratic republic has been Trump's constant lying.
So isn't it delicious that one of the crimes he's been accused of is literally called "Making False Statements"?
Breakfast tastes so good today.
Robertson moldering. Trump charged, again.

(153,193 posts)the overriding question for me has always been IS TRUMP ABOVE THE LAW OR ISN'T HE
hearing about the charges right after reading about Robertson passing (and that vile piece of Reagan shit James Watt) was like icing on the cake....

(2,313 posts)Sure, politicians and their campaigns have always been loose with facts, but the influence Trump has had on the entire GOP has turned it into a complete bullshit factory.
The judgement against Fox, and now this indictment against Drumpf are steps in the right direction.

(15,650 posts)Repukes following yesterday's big news. They are desperate, all in on ending democracy, and will say virtually anything they think might rally their troops and help their cause. The problem is far bigger than Trump. He's just the one who opened the door to this kind of bullshit with an assist from the Faux News and the complicit mainstream media.

(2,443 posts)I had a bottle of champagne chilled and ready for the moment so that my 3D group (dancers, drinkers, Democrats) could pop that cork on indictment of TFG. I predicted the indictment(s) would come Thursday, the day our 3D group had our luncheon. Well, we had lunch, took a dip in the pool, drank, but heard nothing. We all went home and learned it had happened! We managed to get through dance class and met back at the 3D's house who'd hosted lunch. We cracked open not one, but two bottles of champagne last night in celebration along with our spouses.
Yes, I know, I know...it's a sad day for our country, yada, yada, yada... It's also a JOYFUL day that the rule of law is functioning and we can see the evidence of it at last! I'll lament the dirty history of the entire Trump stain on our nation at a later, MUCH later time, but the federal indictments handed down yesterday only bring me joy...GREAT joy! CHEERS!!

(66,462 posts)Development, development, development; that's all that asshole ever talked about. He probably shed tears of joy over the beauty of a strip-mall.
If whatever loved ones that vile shitspewer had really want to honor his legacy, cremate him and toss him into a cement mixer, so he can contribute to the paving over of everything that was once beautiful about this country.

(3,943 posts)Once in a while I turn on HBO Max and watch South Park. Usually when I'm having a bad day and need to laugh at the juvenile humor. The one episode this reminds me of is one of the most famous SP shows "Scott Tennorman Must Die". In the end Cartman is licking the tears off the face of Scott and talking about how sweet his pain is. I kind of feel like that except Scott is Trump and Cartman is Democracy and Justice.
Strange analogy I know but I love it.
