in that this breach of national security might not just put the country in danger and other countries in danger but is it also compromising the lives of intelligence agents and hindering intelligence capabilities?

At one point during Trump's presidency the CIA noticed many unusual deaths in the agency.

Who else would not be surprised that their lives were lost as a result of US intelligence failures or espionage.

(52,604 posts)Never mind the damage he did to our current intelligence network, imagine trying to recruit someone to spy for us when republicans from Cheney to Donnie have zero respect for their lives.
Some people defend donnie (and Cheney too for that matter) by insisting they had some right to declassify the information.
But they never explain how it was a good idea to do so. Because as a matter of competence or public policy, it was a disaster. A horrible, if not evil, act.
So, even if that argument were correct that they had the right to declassify it, and even if it were to keep them out of prison, it should certainly make them a horrible choice for public office.
Yet as always, republicans support their politicians no matter what.
Oh, and Hillary should be locked up because the tiniest something something about classified information is incredibly important so jail for her. Buy republicans can do whatever whenever no problem.

(26,064 posts)As I see it, the callous disregard for the lives of US agents and everyone involved with them should earn him the same fate as Julius and Ethel Rosenberg.
Oh, one more name: Roy Cohn. Theres a symmetry of sorts, with Roy Cohn prosecuting the Rosenbergs, glomming onto Joe McCarthy for his unsuccessful bid for leader of the loons in his day. then taking on rump as virtually a protégé in his developmental years, mastering the dark arts sssociated with skirting the law.
Now rump finds himself caught having committed crimes arguably as heinous as those for which the Rosenbergs died. Trapped like the fucking rat that he is. I would argue furthermore that in terms of US lives lost as a result of their respective crimes, rump is likely ahead in a body count, as I believe more intelligence assets, i.e. actual human beings, were put at risk as a result of his actions. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg died for their crimes. If it can be demonstrated that anyone died as a result of his treachery, shouldnt he complete the circle?
