It seems to me

that they (SCOTUS) are simply following the republican playbook dating back at least to karl rove and methodically dismantling every thing liberal or good or anti-racist or that strives for equality in our country.

We're living in 1984. that's how it feels to me. We're living the handmaid's tale. We're living devolution and being tested to succumb to permanent republican rule, where all the wealth flows upward and the shit rolls downhill, where the vast majority of us will be attempting to live decent lives.

i hate republicans

Jim Crow, Father Knows Best, Mom in the kitchen in apron and high heels, segregated schools, buses with little signs above the window that read whites to the front, colored to the back.

That's the MAGAT version of make America great

I suggest "The New Jim Crow" - it never really went away. I forget his name, but there's a great lecture out there by a scholar who started his talk by saying the South lost the war and won the peace.

it's just that it's starting to feel very purposeful and methodical, what they're doing. Like they're checking off a list of ways to fuck the people over, one by one. Hillary! a vast right wing conspiracy. That woman was right about every fucking thing.

In my opinion they have over-stepped. The young people, especially, are scratching their heads and saying, "What the fuck?" are going to vote in droves. This old girl is going to be right there with them. And, for good measure, we need to expand the SCOTUS and/or get rid of some of the crooks currently sitting on the Court. Keep the faith.

yes. the young people are the hope. If democracy survives in the USA, it will be because they fell short and failed to read the signs. Equality is not just a 8 letter word.

The sixties.
Obama.

They can't accept equality. And the "power of privilege" of being white is dwindling.

Majority minority in the United States
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Majority_minority_in_the_United_States

In the United States of America, majority-minority area or minority-majority area is a term describing a U.S. state or jurisdiction whose population is composed of less than 50% non-Hispanic whites. Racial data is derived from self-identification questions on the U.S. Census and on U.S. Census Bureau estimates. (See Race and ethnicity in the United States Census). The term is often used in voting rights law to designate voting districts that are designed under the Voting Rights Act to enable ethnic or language minorities "the opportunity to elect their candidate of choice." In that context, the term was first used by the Supreme Court in 1977. The Court had previously used the term in employment discrimination and labor relations cases.

at the end of the day, it's racism. Racism is why people who call themselves conservative and don't support tfg won't stop being republican and voting for republicans, no matter the damage being done by republicans. i have a good friend who falls into this category, she's well educated and smart but she cannot acknowledge this reality. She literally didn't believe that Roe would be overturned until the day it happened.

in the 60s they were all fine with abandoning the Democratic party but now, they just cannot see a way to ditch the republicans. it's not in the DNA, it's racism. At the end of the day it's the only reason that makes sense to me.

fuck racism. fuck republicans. i hate republicans
