Couldn't have happened to a more deserving company
Sending spam text messages to customers could cost Papa John's Pizza $250 million.
In a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court in Seattle, attorneys representing people who received the spam said their nationwide class action case against Papa John's International Inc. could total more than $250 million in damages, with more than 500,000 people potentially each receiving $500 or more in damages.
"Many customers complained to Papa John's that they wanted the text messages to stop, and yet thousands of spam text messages were sent week after week," plaintiff attorney Donald W. Heyrich said in a statement.
