Intended to demonstrate the power of Blue to what is rapidly becoming a right wing hate site.

(29,589 posts)not only another right wing hate site... apparently a new haven for child porn.
I don't use X-twit, so I cannot attest to that.

(7,594 posts)Mine is certainly not a right-wing hate site because I block on sight anyone likely to come out with that crap. I generally check out people whose politics would fit in with many on DU, only from a wider range of backgrounds and outlooks. If I look for right-wing bollocks, I'll no doubt find it - just as would have been the case at any point in the time I've been visiting it over the years. That's not why I use the site. I'd know far less about politics etc. in my home country Scotland without Twitter, and would have to rely on the MSM for usually very belated coverage of what's happening on the ground and in wider politics concerning Ukraine without it.
As for "new haven", Twitter's enforcement of its rules has never been great or particularly consistent even before Musk took over. Jack Dorsey only got around to tackling antisemitism on the site three or so years ago, for example.
The only material of anything resembling child porn I've seen was on one of the hashtags and was an alleged video of Hunter Biden that was doing the rounds supposedly showing him up to something. I didn't dwell on it beyond reporting it and it was too indistinct to show anything much without squinting really hard and using some imagination (which I didn't bother doing), so I can't testify what it actually showed.

(16,630 posts)any of the people I normally read are just right wing trolls being horrible (that's redundant, isn't it?).
Wish the alternatives were more active, but one of them will get there eventually.

I really like Spoutable, but it's quiet there.
