NBC: Petraeus to testify at Benghazi hearing Thursday

WASHINGTON -- Former CIA Director David Petraeus will testify Thursday about the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi before the Senate Intelligence Committee, a veteran senator confirmed to NBC News Wednesday.

The Thursday hearing will be the first formal congressional inquiry into the September attack that killed U.S. Ambassador in Libya Chris Stevens and three others.

Petraeus resigned as head of the CIA last week after admitting an affair.

ALL RW'er and ALL convinced that a resignation meant Patraeus won't be testifying, and Obama gets off. They loved that little conspiracy. I shall have to bookmark this page to repost the link, for a little clarification

This from freeperville just now:

"Friend of mine who works in the pentagon has told me lastnight that petraeus was told to shut up about bhegazi and if he didnt, the white house was going to release the info about his girlfriend. I was told that it was petraues who leaked the affair to preempt the white house and tell the truth about libya.
The white house is trying to get him back in the ranks so they can threaten him with a demotion and take away his pension. My buddy told me who is a guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier told me the general is going to sing like a bird"

These people should consider fiction...right there is a synopsis for a good yarn.

To his friend, a demotion still means a pension. That is unless we are talking E-1 here and an actual prison term. Highly, and I mean this, highly unlikely. It is up there with Perry actually signing secession papers.

1. It was a plot to undermine the president's chance for reelection.

2. It was blackmail by the admin to keep Gen. Petraeus quiet about Benghazi.

Perhaps Petraeus just wanted some strange nookie, and thought he could get away with it. Could it be that simple?

Personally if this is seven days in may, it will end up as a sexy affair.

"In a given situation, the simplest explanation is probably correct."
Besides, I am not a big believer in conspiracy theories. They usually give the perpetrators way too much credit for intelligence.
