America has a two-tiered justice system.

There can be no doubt that the privileged are not treated the same as most Americans, no matter how serious their crimes are.

There Does Seem To Be A ‘Two-Tiered’ Justice System, And Donald Trump Is Its Poster Child
Trump now faces 78 felony counts in three indictments but has yet to wear handcuffs, lose his passport, post bail or even have his mug shot taken.

except I would say a 3-tiered justice system. And it has always been in place since the manumission of slaves in this country.

Like any other commodity, the more money (resources) a person has, the more access they have to ... justice. When you think about rich people like Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, Jeffrey Esptein, and yes Donald Trump have used their wealth and power to escape the consequences of horrific and criminal behavior for decades.

Historically, kings and queens would routinely capture and kill each other off but if "commoners" ever deposed the aristocracy it was an OUTRAGE. That system of thought continues into modern times where those "blessed" with money and power seem to be considered above the law even though we here in America like to believe that "justice is blind".

It's been this way since inception. The issue isn't access, we ALL have the same options. The issue is, who can afford a team of 800.00 an hour attorneys in addition to a team of "experts" to use those options. ALL of whom WILL be paid (a huge chunk up front) or there will be no service.

a poor black man in some super racist county in let's just say Tennessee for the sake of argument.
Then I will believe that America's justice system is equal.

Another tier I can think of is 'wealthy people ... who substantially ripped off even wealthier/better connected people'.

That's a special tier all its own.

Just as a random example.
