Since the RWers want to make a big deal out of Benghazi with no factual back-up....
...I propose we start making a big deal out of the failure of the Bush Admin in the months leading up to 9-11. If McCain believes the Benghazi attack warrants a "Watergate-style" investigation, then the 9-11 disaster should require at least the same treatment.
Despite years of intelligence reports stating terrorist groups could indeed use commercial airliners to attack a wide variety of targets, the Bush Admin was caught with their pants down. Condi Rice claimed repeatedly that we had no idea terrorists could use planes to launch attacks, a statement that was clearly a lie.
Atta and his fellow terrorists were allowed to attend flight training classes at two flight schools and nobody was apparently concerned enough to keep very close tabs on these guys. What were their connections with Pakistan's intelligence organization, ISI? Why was Atta sent $100,000 dollars by the ISI prior to the attacks? Was the ISI the originator of the funds, or were they serving as a conduit for someone or something else?
Why were the military responses to the 9-11 attacks so confused? Why were so few planes...a total of three...scrambled to pursue the hijacked airliners, and why were they scrambled from bases geographically distant from the actual attack locations?
This is just the tip of the 9-11 iceberg.
So, McCain, where's your outrage about the events of 9-11?
