Joe Biden Has A New Nickname For Donald Trump And It's Historic

President Joe Biden on Thursday gave Donald Trump the business for his poor jobs record and debuted a new nickname for the occasion: “Donald Hoover Trump.”

Biden was touting his so-called Bidenomics at a community college in Maryland when he noted that Trump was one of two presidents who left office with fewer jobs in the U.S. than when they began.

“One was President Hoover, and the other was Donald Hoover Trump,” Biden said to laughter. “My predecessor promised to be the greatest job president in history. Well, it didn’t really work out that way. He lost 2 million jobs over the course of his presidency.”

Of course, I live in a place where it's "common wisdom" among a certain generation that Black and Democrat are synonyms. These boomers were trained from an early age not to indulge in critical thinking, and it shows. I have, though, heard Hoover referred to as a great president. I expect that's something they got from Fox.

Just as Americans call all nose tissues “Kleenex” regardless of brand, the British call the act of vacuuming and the vacuum itself “Hoovering” and “The Hoover” in the same way!

So no matter if you own an Oreck or a Dyson or whatever, using it is called Hoovering with the Hoover!

For Traitors

Benedict Arnold Trump
Donald Judas Trump

But President Biden is aiming his comments against Trump's jobs and economy record. By prefacing his comment with a comparison between Trump's record and Hoover's, he paved the way for the Donald Hoover Trump name. People who don't know history will at least realize that Hoover was a president, and a bad one on economics.

I'm 68 and I certainly have heard lots about the Depression era (via word-of-mouth), but president names from the first half of the century are just a jumble in my mind. Social studies in schools, when I was a kid, started every year with Christopher Columbus and never - ever - made it to the 20th century. Perhaps I'd know more if I had taken History in high school, but I do think I am typical.

If he wants to give 45 a nickname that will stick it needs to be more relatable to the average person of ANY age.
