Some perspective to those who criticize Israel

The Hamas attack is the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.

This is what the United States did to entire cities because of the Nazis:

Please don't come here whining about Israel retaliating against Hamas. Israelis and Jews don't want to hear it.

Pearl harbor 2,403 US dead

That got them:

Japan war dead: The current range is extensive, from 2,600,000 to 3,100,000, with combatant deaths estimated at 2.1 million (The National WWII Museum). The conservative estimate would put noncombatant deaths at around 500,000, while the more liberal estimate would be 1 million.

Hamas wants to give their bigger neighbor a bloody nose and commit atrocities, don't be surprised if it turns out VERY badly for you.

4. Just so we are clear about your point: are you linking the two actions together right or wrong,

or are you asserting the Allied WWII bombing campaigns were morally appropriate, or some third message?

I apologize for asking, but found your post to be somewhat ambiguous. I think clarity of message will lead to more fruitful and satisfying conversation, and fewer frustrating misunderstandings.

5. Here is some more perspective.

The Holocaust was Nazi Germany's deliberate murder of approximately six million European Jews and at least five million prisoners of war.
Are you saying they are the same thing? I have no problem with killing every single Hamas. I do have a problem with killing those who had nothing to do with this. I saw a video of a kid and his mother in a collapsed building, the kid crying to his mother not to leave him, not to die. I think it was a Palestinian but I cant be sure. Does it matter? It doesn't to me. If it does to you then I am sorry for you and I hope you find a better way.

indiscriminate to the plight of Palestinian civilians--with no attempt to target Hamas-- then those bemoaning ANY & ALL loss of the moral high ground are, in essence, discounting more than 75 years of the Geneva Conventions. And the Western world will NOT condone that-- nor should they. Israel has every right to decimate Hamas and no one expects there will not be collateral damage to some civilians, no matter how "surgical" the attempt. But, beyond that, they tread the road of war crimes--not to mention the potential to inflame the entire Arab world into a regional conflagration that will surely draw in the entire Western world.

8. Your comment makes me wonder what would have happened if we sat out WW2.

If the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor had been foiled or not gone ahead, it would have been very likely we would have sat it out and protected the Western Hemisphere.
