Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHey, Mitt! You didn't just LOSE, you're being fucking ERASED!
And that, you pampered, elitist, chickenhawk, liar; makes this victory all the sweeter! There's no Republican anywhere with a nice thing to say about you! SARAH PALIN thinks you're a dumb ass! Sure, you were able to convince a bunch of your billionaire buddies that it was "your turn". And Queen Ann thought it was fucking pre-ordained! You both thought that good hair, a fake smile, white skin, a sense of entitlement, and the willingness to say absolutely ANYTHING was your ticket to the White House.
But here's the thing, your worship. Every now and then the American electorate's bullshit detector goes into overdrive. Bush got elected by running as a faux-cowboy, half-bright, amiable clown because THAT'S WHAT HE FUCKING WAS! You, on the other hand, ran as whatever the Hell you thought the particular group you were speaking to at the time wanted you to be. Tens of millions of idiots wanted to have a beer with George Bush. NOBODY wants to hang with you, because we all know you can't wait to run back to the rest of your rich prick friends and snicker about how we used the wrong fucking fork at dinner.
Go away now, Mitt. And go with the knowledge that the people who PRETENDED to like you, didn't. And those like me, who always knew that you were a phony piece of shit, and said so, have been proven correct.

And his Mini-shit...er, I mean Mini-Mitt Ryan lost not only his home state WI but even his home town !!

I don't think there is even a precedent for that sort of thing.
He mainly flip-flopps when he is campaigning. But once he gets into office, Romney turns into a nasty Right-wing d0uchebag.

(81,973 posts)Glad you're here! Yeah, must admit, there are many of us here who are still savoring the victory. It's been a long time coming. Really, going back to 2004 and 2000. Those were just horrible defeats, combined with the AWFUL way they danced in the end zone and smirked and gloated and laughed at us. When some of us were so distressed and distraught that we sought help, they scoffed and guffawed.
I suppose they were very excited to get themselves a nice big-ass bully, the kind who grabs a funny-looking nerdy kid, throws him to the ground, has his thug friends hold his victim down so he can cut the unfortunate kid's hair. Or maybe strapped his poor defenseless dog to the top of the family car for a 12-hour drive to Canada. ASSHOLE. mitty-boy, your illustrious pampered privileged Alpha-male billionaire career will be capped by 63-million + 47-percenters and their friends holding YOU down on the ground in front of the entire country (actually, the whole world) and cut YOUR hair. AND strapped your little pet Eddie Munster to the top of the car and drove the both of you to Loser-ville.

(81,973 posts)Glad you're here! His favorability numbers were always low. Consistently throughout the campaign, especially against Obama. The President beat mitt even during Obama's own shakier times.
What always annoyed me was this straining to press the case for false equivalence. There was a long span of time where CNN was describing one particular Obama lead of 48-40 as "neck and neck." WTF??? The media was bending over triple-backwards trying to portray this election as a dead heat. So misleading for almost the whole length of the campaign! It was such a loud, constant drumbeat that people here were freaking out. I should know - I certainly was one of them! I spent most of the campaign in a low-grade panic. Before the primary debate season even got halfway through, I was talking to myself every time I went out to walk the dog! I've been a tightly contained nervous wreck for more than a year!
Good Heavens! Is this what they call "pretzel logic"? Media relentlessly giving the benefit of the doubt to the wrong wing? As I observed through month after month of the campaign, it was damn near infuriating.

Nitwitt, Rove and his cronies are a bunch of liars, cheaters and thieves. What makes you think they would stop at the election? Why do you think they were so damned surprised when the states they thought they bought, were called for OBAMA! Thank you, Anonymous and friends, for helping to save this country from sure demise. Please expose these criminals with your factual information and proof. The country needs to know. It's time.

(81,973 posts)It's pretty bad when sarah palin thinks you're vacant upstairs. MAN. This is such a staggeringly profound come-down. Icarus plunging back to earth. It makes me think of the fall of richard nixon. His parting speech before he climbed into Marine One for the last time included the comment (paraphrasing a little here) "it's only when you've sunk into the deepest valley that you can really appreciate standing on the highest mountain." Somehow I wonder if perhaps this is one of the few defeats or embarrassments or losses he's ever experienced.
Consider:
His behavior suggests that he's had it just almost completely nonstop GOLDEN throughout his life. He was born with a card deck filled with aces, and all the faces. Including the life of a powerful and illustrious CEO's and governor's kid, blue-chip prep school, rising in rank in the Mormon Church, the accident he survived (in Paris, no less), the much-coveted pretty girl he landed, the five healthy sons he sired (that kind of thing can help foster a "cock-o'-the-walk complex" and can make a guy feel pretty damn virile), the way he avoided Vietnam, scoring in big business, more business, the Olympics, even more business, slick tricks with tax manipulation and never got caught, winning a state governorship. His life was pretty much a series of grand slams, with triumph after win after conquest - until now. This may be it, other than the other couple of times he ran unsuccessfully for office.
I think romney's thing may boil down to one simple concept: Asserting Dominance. Certainly accumulated his share of titles - CEO, Governor, Chairman, Bishop, Owner, Principle Stockholder, etc. Lots of Alpha Male assertion. If he were a dog, he'd be the one peeing on everything, relentlessly establishing his territory. After you've been all those things and then gone as far as Governor, there are few mountaintops worthy of you anymore. I mean, what's left? I suspect mitt figured it was his turn to be the Ultimate Alpha Male. Especially with a father who tried and failed. WOW! Think of the bragging rights! You'd be the Ultimate Alpha Male, not just in the USA but especially in your family. If george the dunce could do it, why not him, after all? Because he surely was smarter and had more money than dubya.
I think mitt is just not used to losing because it simply hasn't darkened his path all that often. Perhaps that's why he's been acting out so badly since the election. As so many bloggers and writers and posters are wording it: "America dodged a bullet."
Glad you're here. Let's all help to make sure that his kind of mindset NEVER gets into the White House.

(3,626 posts)we dodged a freaking hydrogen bomb and just barely. Don't forget that over 58,000,000 Americans voted for Mitt the Twit. Fifty-eight million fellow American voters. That's no small number, folks, even if we take out election fraud/flipped votes.
I'm dancing in the streets and off the Xanax since the election, but don't for one second believe the phoney self-reflection being promoted by the likes of Jindal and others. They're clever and, more importantly, they're patient. 2014 will be hugely important to guard against, and 2016 is right around the corner. The 'new and improved' (R) party will be as dishonest and evil as always. They will just try to camouflage it more effectively.
We need to be ready. We need to start right now to cultivate and promote excellent Democratic up-and-comers. We should not put all our eggs in the 2016 Hillary basket. (I don't think she'll run and have said this consistently.) We're Democrats. We can actually multi-task. We can look to the future while still savoring the delicious present.

(81,973 posts)I don't even want to think about the wreckage and other kinds of "creative destruction" they had in mind to institute on Day One.
Every word of your post is absolute gold-pressed latinum, Ineeda! We can NEVER let down our guard. I'm really sorry to have to say this, but we would do well ALWAYS to be suspicious of their motives. Unfortunately, that has to be our default position when dealing with these folks. Always suspect something first. I'm sorry - with this bunch it's Guilty-Til-Proven-Innocent. There is always some ulterior motive and for them it's always all about winning. So they can institute their reckless selfish greedy short-sighted "policies" and tear down the New Deal. Hell, they'd take us all the way back to the Bronze Age if they could, although they'd have a pretty hard time getting Pox Noise or tuning into lamebaugh if they succeeded!
They want power back. They want the White House back. And they will not stop til they win. Which is why we cannot stop, either. I, too, have been kind of on bliss-out mode since last Election Night. For me it's been quietly savoring what feels an awful lot like payback, or karma, or something, for the way we were kicked in the teeth in 2000 and 2004. The way we were kicked in the teeth about the war in Iraq. The way we were kicked in the teeth about the phony-ass WMD - that we all KNEW was ALL phony and were ignored when we tried to spread the truth.
If we want to keep them stopped, then WE can't stop for even a split-nanosecond! As Mad-Eye Moody always warned Harry Potter: "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!!!!!!" The bad guys won't stop. So we can't afford to.

(1,309 posts)Forgetting Mitt may help repugnants conceal who they are. So many repugnants said Obama shoud quit running against George Bush but Obama ran by matching his policies with the failed policies of George Bush and the more frightening non sensical draconian policies of Romney and Ryan. We must never let Romney Ryan or George Bush faDE FROM PUBLIC consciousness because never has rhere been so clearly a picture of republican leadership's subservience to their true gods, big money donors. We must make the names of George Bush, Paul Ryan, and Romney remain infamous to remind us how necessary it is to defeat their policies, how fragile this democracy is, how much under attack it still is by the extremely wealthy and powerful, how inhguman these groups are towards the poor, the sick, the old, and most of us, how the house of representatives is still illegitmately controlled by gferrymandering, and how scum teabaggers still hold elected office. Never forget Mitt, never forget Bush, and never forget Romney. Lets destroy the gerrymandering in the House.
