We've even got a good handful like that mucking around on DU.

For Murdoch and his sort... Their "support" for Israel is predicated on one or both of the following.

1) a hatred of Arabs and / or Muslims
2) The belief that Israel is going to be Jesus' landing pad.

To these guys, any jew who does not wave the Israeli flag and give a lusty cheer when the bombs fall is, as David Horowitz puts it, a "Self-hating jew" (he also likes the terms "judenrat" and "kapo."

Of course, tying Israel and Jewish identity together like that - making one dependant on the other - is a pretty easy hallmark of an antisemitic attitude. That it's popping up from one of the most likely of sources isn't that surprising, only that he feels secure enough to voice it aloud.

I'm trying to figure out D.U. and the limits for discussion on Israel.
I posted the original thread but did not want to elaborate because I didn't want to be blocked.....

Gaza is a dangerous and heartbreaking situation and should be discussed
in full....

Or at least he's pandering to right-wingers who often hold such attitudes. It's hard to know what he actually thinks, as he will say anything that will sell his papers.

P.S. if I were a non-citizen who owned much of a country's media, I'd keep my mouth strictly shut with regard to the ethnic origins of newspaper owners.
