the plaintiffs are negotiating for a lower payment in order to receive something. (That has appeared on D.U. on several occasions.)

He has to pay right away or post a bond that assures the money is in escrow, no matter what.

(3,525 posts)91 criminal indictments and judgements in the millions isn't anything I can dismiss as 'never gonna happen', so yeah, I think Ms. Carroll will soon be making a few trips to her bank with a sweet deposit slip in hand.
