Trump's Biggest Mistake

Trump should have never come down that escalator and run for the Presidency in the first place. He was doing fine running his New York fake real estate and game show scam. He was a comical side show at best. Now he has brought holy hell down on his own head.

I doubt that he would have been over run with civil and criminal cases had he never run for the Presidency. He has brought all of this down on his own head. He is in danger of losing all of his money, his New York businesses, and he may land in jail. None of this would have happened if he had just shut up and stayed in New York. He put a target on his own back when he ran for the Presidency.

He may be destroyed by his own sociopathic vanity. This is why he is desperate to be re-elected. It may be the only way that he stays out of jail and retains any of his so-called fortune. Donnie should never stuck his neck out and ran for the Presidency in the first place. If he loses all of his money and lands in jail, he will regret it all. Dummy.

Trump will never sit in the White House again. Because:
He will die or become completely medically unfit for office
He'll be in prison/ he'll be on trial and bleeding votes.
One of his own followers will wake up and realize trump doesn't really love him and put several rounds into him.

Hardly anybody.

Plus, the GOP has the abortion millstone, and I'll bet women turn out big in the states that have draconian bans. I mean, if just TX flips blue it will be a big deal, and this Abbott seems like a total dirtbag.

The E Jean Carroll thing was huge, too, because women voters all over the country heard about how she got awarded $83 million. That wouldn't have happened if there had been any doubt about the rape.

And of course, the criminal proceedings are ramping up.

I think Trumpy is toast.

For what it is worth, I predict the following:
1. Trumpy will walk away with the GOP nomination and become the official nominee in July.
2. During the campaign season, I believe he will have a major health event because honestly, Ed, he looks like shit.
3. This will take him out of the race, and the GOP will have to scramble to put in an emergency candidate.
4. All the while, Biden and the downticket Dems will be pounding on abortion, healthcare, climate and so on.
5. Most Indy's, all Dems and a significant number of Republicans will vote for Biden.
6. In the meantime, the split to No Labels will hurt the Repubs more than it does us.
7. Dems will take back the House, keep the Senate and Biden will go to the White House for a second term.

I also think during the lead up to the general election, Trumpy's dementia and poor health will be more heavily covered.

Let's hope so, eh?

It was all about making more money and expanding the enterprise. Because that's all Donald Trump really cared about (besides his own ego): Money.

The one time he told the truth was early on confessing that through his entire life he'd been 'greedy, greedy, greedy.'

Of course, even then he had to turn it on a lie by insisting that now 'he wanted to be 'greedy for America,' as if he wanted to be greedy in the service of the average Joe and Jane.

Just another con-job.

He had confidants who suggested ways to take advantage of his position and the system, and he ended up wanting to stay on power in spite of his total incompetency as POTUS. Trump looked at the GOP and saw that it was a political party that was ripe for a takeover.
Trump looked at all the income inequality and the frustrated American worker and saw that he could exploit that situation for his own political gain.
Trump looked at the White House and saw that it could be turned into his own personal mafia syndicate.
Trump took the oath of office figuring he could be as unfaithful to that oath as he had been in his marriage vows to Melania.
What Trump didn't see, and didn't figure out, was that the office of president karmically demanded that he sincerely serve his country, and not just himself, to come out on top and remain unscathed.

The karmic lesson that Trump had to learn from this whole affair ( and for Trump it was actually like a promiscuous, illicit affair with the presidency) was that you gotta give to get, and that the quality of the intentions that you put into the whole enterprise will come back to haunt you if you don't put your absolute best into it. And Trump had to learn this the hard way, in the school of hard knocks, as they say...

All he had to do was say "Listen, we have a little problem. We're going to have to mask up and stay apart for a little while until we come up with a vaccine." But he made it all about himself. He thought ignoring it and pretending it would just go away would insulate him. He thought he was going to be blamed if he admitted there was a problem. Narcissism ruled his behavior. The same with the first Carroll verdict. If he had just shut his mouth, he could have paid her and swept it under the rug. But he has no self control. The worst person you could possibly put in any kind of government position. He puts himself over the country every time.

I think donnie ran for president out of fear, not greed.

I think Donnie's empire was collapsing and the pressure was on. I think if Donnie's empire of grift was continuing to function, he would have left well enough alone. But most banks had shut him out, and while there's always a d-string supplier to be found, really the whole business community knew not to work with him. Certainly lawyers knew that.

I'll bet his Russian backers made him do it. They wanted a payoff for funding him and it wasn't cash they were looking for, and he likely wasn't generating enough cash anyway.

I think the idea about him doing it because he was annoyed by a joke Obama made is a story that lives on because it serves everyone. For Donnie, it deflects blame. See, it's Obama's fault, he's not a Russian plant. He needed an excuse to run given he had zero experience.

If Donnie was a true billionaire with a real empire, he would have gotten revenge by giving millions to Obama's opponents.

The idea that everything was going swimmingly in Donnie's world and suddenly one joke makes him risk everything to run for president just doesn't add up. I think it was desperation. I think his crimes and ineptness were catching up with him and he needed a Hail Mary.

The problem is, his attempt to recover what he lost is going to get the rest of us killed.

He almost succeeded first term.

His failures during the covid outbreak are not talked about enough. I remember in late February 2020, I had a 2 week Mediterranean cruise booked, starting 2/29/20. Prior to departure date, I was concerned about the reports of covid that were popping up. I had been in that situation once before in 2009 when the swine flu was running rampant. The difference is, President Obama and his team made the decision early on to take that flu seriously and, as a result, my booked Cruise was delayed and I didn't have to worry about losing my money.

Fast forward to 2020, things were handled a lot differently. Despite covid being on the march, trump's team did absolutely nothing. By not weighing in on the situation, MSC Cruise lines and the other cruise lines decided to stay quiet too. After all, they didn't want to lose any money.

So we had to decide whether we were going to lose tens of thousands of dollars or potentially risk being caught up in an international pandemic.

That failure to lead definitely contributed to covid becoming a worldwide pandemic and to the death toll.
