Has tRump filed to appeal the Chutkan case to go to the Supreme Court yet?

Last edited Wed Feb 7, 2024, 02:16 PM - Edit history (1)

If he has not done so....How long does he get to file an appeal to go to the Supreme Court with this case?

He predictably does things just for a delay....My feeling is the Supreme Court will send it back to the Appeals Court and not touch this one...

He can appeal to an "en banc" of the entire DC district (9 judges, including the 3 who already ruled against him).

Five of the nine judges would need to agree in order to overturn this week's ruling. Since 3 already said "you are not immune," 5 out of the remains 6 judges would have to
overrule this week's ruling.

If he does an "en banc" appeal, the stay on Judge Chutkan goes away while the appeal is considered, and the trial starts happening.

He can appeal to SCOTUS and the stay continues until the SCOTUS denies cert and let's this week's ruling stand. The trial starts happening.

He appeals to SCOTUS and they sit on their hands, deciding nothing and gives tfg more delay.

He appeals to SCOTUS, they agree to hear the appeal and sit on their hands. He gets a delay.

He appeals to SCOTUS, they agree to hear the appeal and agree with this week's ruling. The trial happens.

He appeals to SCOTUS and they overturn this week's ruling, declaring tfg immune, immortal, and super special. No need for a trial. Coronation planning commences.

Sunday night, Feb 11, midnight? Perhaps because the deadline falls on a Sunday, he gets an extra day?
