The GOP leadership even flies to Moscow with their hands out.
All Putin has to do is promise cash and help getting installed the next election cycle.

They did not care in the least they were collaborating with our enemy.

No big military expenditure.

Of course he has helped make the US violent. Funded the NRA.
Behind the anti-vax movement, etc.

So Americans are dying at the hands of Putin.

as he watches the planet being destroyed. Anything he can't have dominion over, he'd just prefer to demolish. He is one of those people who take a perverse pleasure in watching things go "boom" just for the fun of it. I wonder if he has "daddy" issues like so many authoritarian rulers.

And torture and destroy as many people as possible.
I believe he deliberately ordered his troops in Ukraine to be supplied with viagra and alcohol ahead of the mass rapes of civilians in Ukraine.

Yea he probably had some serious dysfunctionality as a child. And when the USSR broke apart whenhe was a young KGB agent he vowed revenge on the US. He has been working on this for decades.

what it must be like to be him. The cruelty and sadistic nature is just beyond comprehension. So many authoritarians treat the world as if it is their own personal game board with no regard to the human lives they are affecting.

They are the only ones who matter, everyone else is just collateral damage in their sick games.

For Putin what matters the most are power, wealth and revenge.
He is also quite sadistic and likes the torture details.

He is like a serial killer who leaves his calling card at the murders he orders.
He wants us to know who he kills, how and why.

Right now he is emboldened and it almost feels like he is on a manic high.
He is a brutal ruthless sociopath, exceptionally dangerous.

His goal is to be a 21st century superpower, and he will destroy as much as it takes to achieve this goal.

history would tell him how it all will end, yet tyrants keep doing the same things over and over again, as if they will be the exception to the rule.

You're right, Putin is very much like a serial killer, leaving his mark wherever he goes.

And across Europe.

They have let the autocratic bloc do a great deal of damage.
And we have their puppets spread across our government.

Our only hope is We The People rising up and standing for democracy.

And the western democracies need to start fighting back hard.

Russia and China have strengths but weakness too.
China's economy is tanking, Putin is under a great deal of stress right now.

We can do it if we fight back.

it feels like a replay of the lead up to World War II. Most Western democracies were pretty complacent and not willing or ready for war. There were fascist movements in the U.S. and even in congress. This time, however, Europe seems more prepared as they have not forgotten. I'm not so sure about the U.S. though.
