General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsAs usual, Ali Velshi's show is outstanding...
...and goes beyond the headlines, but today's program which featured two Palestine immigrants who lost everything in Gaza, and the wife of Vladimir Kara-Murza was heart rending. I don't know what awards or recognitions he qualifies for, but Velshi's been MSNBC's most tireless reporter at giving a view into the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, and supporting the First Amendment through the "Banned Book Club".
He has my admiration.

(102,685 posts)As I increasingly find Ari Melber's legal creds waaay overshadowed by his ego and arrogance, I'd be quite happy to have Velshi take over Melber's time slot. If anyone really cares about Melber's rap obsession, let him have a weekend show to focus on that.

(2,136 posts)Ari comes across as so smug and arrogant, I can't watch him anymore. If he loves rap and hip-hop so much, he should be on a show about those things and not a news/current events program.
Katie Phang did such a great job filling in for him this week. Too bad SHE can't be in that timeslot all the time.

(8,118 posts)I've got to say, as for the regulars, I'm really glad Nicole is back from maternity leave, but Joy, Chris and Alex have been friggin' knocking it out of the park lately: Truly making clear what is going on, and having the receipts & guests to back it all up.
MSNBC has been highlighting the truth in a big way! It's almost hard to tell what rigidly conservative corporations it is under (Comcast and GE). I wish it wasn't too much to ask that America's largest corporations would finally see the light and actually RESPECT the democrats.

(613 posts)I love his essays and the latest one about the presidency not being televised was a home run, and a beautifully crafted answer to Jon Stewart's glib bothsidesism on his first show back.

(1,167 posts)We must not be watching the same program. Alex Wagner is absolutely unwatchable. She asks the most inane questions, is constantly being corrected by her producers (watch for it; once you notice it, you can't not see it), makes pointless statements, etc.
Why wasn't Ali Velshi given her time slot? Wagner is just not ready for primetime.
