FLINT, MI -- A special lecture at the University of Michigan-Flint will focus on the status of human body parts as commodities.

"Technology has led to changes in the status of body parts and tissues and introduced new problems of ownership, control and financial gain," according to a UM-Flint announcement. "For example, women's wombs, human organs, sperm and eggs, and some genes, have become 'property' to which ownership rights and market prices are attached."

The lecture will be delivered by economics professor Adam Lutzker.

The lecture is scheduled for 12:30-1:30 p.m. MOnday, Nov. 26, in the Happenings Room at University Center.

is a free-market guy. Free-marketers have been proposing this for a while now.
I recall one of their strangest arguments goes like this: It would make the general population healthier because people would be in competition with each other to sell their organs and would want to be the one chosen.

Sickening
