Donald Trump spent much of the last year of his presidency trying to ban TikTok.
Heres what he said on July 31, 2020: "As far as TikTok is concerned, we're banning them from the United States."
Trump today: Just so everyone knows Biden is responsible for banning TikTok.
Why did Trump flip-flopped on TikTok? Trump recently met with Jeff Yass, a megadonor with a $33 billion stake in TikTok.
A few days later, Trump announced he changed his mind and hes now against a TikTok ban. Yass is also the biggest institutional shareholder of the shell company that recently merged with Trumps social media company.

(32,731 posts)Millions use it to scroll silly videos, but millions also use it for their income. They get paid for the content they post. Or they promote their own businesses. For some people, it's their full time job and now President Biden and Democrats (with rare assistance from rethugs) have injected uncertainty in the mix. These people are now wondering if they'll be without their main source of income.
Don't get between Americans and their money. It's not the right time. There are too many other LITERAL fires burning right now. Please focus on putting those fires out.
