Ever consider why we have the expressions of 'on a tee' to describe something easy to do? Because hitting a golf ball is easy. The ball is literally placed at your feet on something that makes it stay put for you to aim at--unlike other sports where you have to deal with a moving ball. Nearly every factor in the ball's design, from those dimples to the materials they're made from, also makes the most of lift and distance when you do hit it.

It's so easy to hit a golf ball that kids play the sport. When I was young, my family lived in an exclusive gated community that had its own golf course. Kids as young as 7 or 8 would be playing in the summer because they were bored and had nothing else to do in the pre-Atari world we lived in.

If youngsters can hit a golf ball, just about anyone can.

Golfers have to walk this rugged course. It’s over 5 miles (I think) from the first tee to the 18th green. There are many elevation changes. It’s a beautiful woodland course that is tough and long but fair. There’s only one water hole and the greens are relatively flat but fast. The carries off the tees are pretty long. It’s a fantastic course without any gimmicks.

No motor cart for Trump. If he were to hit into the rough, the “Black Grass” will prevent “Pele” from kicking his ball out.

Trump sucks.

I’ve played the Black many times although I prefer the Red.

Sportswriter Rick Reilly is calling BS on Donald Trump after the former president declared himself the winner of both the club championship and senior club championship at the Trump International Golf Club in Florida.

“He’s never won a championship at a course he doesn’t own and operate,” Reilly, who has golfed with Trump, said on MSNBC on Tuesday. “He’s played in Pebble Beach, he’s played in the Tahoe one, where there are rules and judges and cameras. And in those, he’s never finished in the top half. So he wins when anybody who disagrees that he won is out of the club. That’s how he gets it.”

Reilly, who wrote an entire book on how Trump cheats at golf, said the former president even confessed one of his methods: When he buys a golf course, he plays the first round alone and declares himself the course champion.

And that’s not the only trick up Trump’s sleeve.

Reilly said golfers have to trust each other because of the vast distances on the course and the fact that no referees are keeping watch ― and Trump takes full advantage of that.

The former president “always gets a turbo-charged golf cart that goes three times as fast as yours, so he’s always 200 yards ahead, and that gives him time to cheat.”
