We can't scrutinize a possible nominee because there are some repugnant Republicans who are bad mouthing her? That article points out some things that we should consider, pleasant or not. And I hope those concerns are in the mix as Obama thinks about this nomination.

1. When is Clinton resigning and when will President Obama have to nominate somebody to replace her? He's not going to have to try to get somebody in place with THIS Congress, will he?
2.)Is this "concern" about Rice gaining traction or are just the pundits and the beltway paying attention to this?
3.)Is this nonsense going to die out/fizzle out anytime soon?
