Please look up the original sources of any poll or article you put on the forum

If you are the least bit uncertain, wiki the group and/or organization to determine their political leaning.

It’s a bit more effort, but it keeps disinformation or anti-Democratic positions from seeping into our forum.

2. I'm really surprised that the Red Finch (poll buying scheme) has not been a bigger story

I've yet to see it really covered much by any of the cable news shows that I watch. I think it should be a HUGE story.

I would like to see a real investigation into how polls are purchased and manipulated.

Every time I see a report on a new poll, my first thought is: I wonder how much $ went into manipulating that one.

12. There are some posters that defend all polls all the way to the mat. They go to ground in their defense of shit polls.

Some inadvertently, some by design.

What was the population from which the sample was drawn? (All adults, registered voters, likely voters,…). Once the sample has been selected, how was the data collected? How closely does the demographic makeup of the sample mirror the population? How was non-response addressed? What was the percentage of non-response? What is the exact wording of the questions?

Think of the map repukes love to use after every election to show how Red the United States is, blue concentrated in very few but populace areas. Biden won about 500 Counties, tRump 2,500 Counties. So easy to manipulate. Poll 250 in Biden Counties, 1,250 in tRump Counties. Random calls will create HUGE advantage for Repukes.

Example: Nebraska has 93 counties. Probably divided back in horse and buggy days so every farmer was only a day’s ride from the county seat. The bottom 20 all have less than 2,000 inhabitants.

Sometimes things are just funny, and that was absolutely one of them. Superseded yesterday's CameraGate by a large margin for me.

It's like someone sent out a directive. "Let's just get wacky with it!" and the Internet replied, "That is literally all you had to say."

If this is what the next five months are going to be like, popcorn for everyone.

IMO national presidential polls are meaningless anyway since presidential elections are decided in a handful of swing states by a relative small number of voters.
