grabs media attention whenever he can in order to promote his theocratic politics.

He's as smarmy and dishonest as a Wild West snake oil salesman. He used to be head of the local Tea Party and has MAGA followers now.

Having Mickey Mouse ears on top of her head illustrates her intellectual and emotional maturity level.

(Apologies to Mickey who has more character than the caricature in the video.)

I thought Alito was very conservatively Roman Catholic. I didn't know this angle.

Fundamentalist and Dominonist groups with similar Catholic organizations like Opus Dei and People of Praise.

Too bad there's almost no freedom FROM religion.

Wow--I had not heard of that! I will discuss with my husband, who has family doing Latin mass etc. They seem like very nice and educated people, and they're sorry I will burn in hell for eternity as a churchless Episcopalian.

...it's truly pathetic.

If these evangelical dominionists had their way these Catholics wouldn't get a seat at the table, they'd be treated like trash.

Our Conservative Catholic Supreme Court justices would probably be forced to denounce their Catholicism as they stood before the firing squad.

It's very similar to the way some Black and Gay voters support Republicans, even the blatantly racist and homophobic Republicans.

that Maine state flag was only in use between 1901 and 1910. The original pine tree appeal to heaven flag is from Rev. War era.
You do see flags here in southern Maine with a pine tree and a star. I never know if it's meant as a Maine thing or as a flag with an agenda...

I think maybe Maine should keep the current flag, but longer-term Mainers
may know more about this than I do.

When I was there last month, not all the same exact tree. I had the same questions rolling through my mind. I remember seeing it in history books when I was in school in Maine but I don't recall seeing it on a flag pole other than at the museum at the Capitol.
