(91,293 posts)And people are burned out on the doom and gloom shit. The Dem ticket is one of joy and hope and that's what most people want.
I love that there are so many R groups getting together to support the sane candidates!

(14,716 posts)He had me at the couch joke 😸
but the more I found out about him the cooler he seemed.
This pivot away from talking about how scary the Annoying Orange Diaper and the Couch Dude are is excellent.
Charlie Chaplin had the right idea with The Dictator.
Look, any of us who are aware at all get every ugly thing Trump is playing on. But too much focus on that ironically has the opposite effect. It invokes images of WW2 and concentration camps etc. etc. which is very dark and frightening even when not taken literally. Especially since Trump is so very ugly on the inside.
Therefore it: a) has a demoralizing effect on people on the left and b) it reinforces their strong man crap.
The couch joke and the weird stuff is brilliant. It may seem juvenile on the surface, but it really does puncture their tough guy shit.
A population which has become become almost numbed by the sense that: womens rights are under attack overtly and subtly; this Nazi Incel shit is getting mainstream; all serious issues (science/environment/labor/equality/civil rights) are getting the short shrift and on and on needs to see these petty tyrants for what they are.
All that stuff vermin/unhumans is very creepy and unhealthy if taken seriously beyond a point.
I was never a fan of that go high shit anyway..it also lacks moral courage by the time things are this extreme.
Me, I say: weirdos! 🛋️🍆😸.
*Points at Trump/Vance and laughs

And yeah, his "mind your own business" is a lesson so many really need to embrace a bit better. Just let other people do their thing, and if I don't like it or think it's silly, that's on me; but when I begin to openly complain about benign choices others make that have zero effect on me, well... that's just me advertising my own character flaws.

(5,475 posts)So hypocritical too for the party that pretends to support "smaller" government, fewer regulations, and getting rid of "deep state" when in fact they have been pushing for more government meddling and dominance over our private lives.
