(1,365 posts)should not be such highly recommended stories about some asshole who wore a wig 20, I don't know 30 years ago?
This close to Kamala Harris being elected President of the United States of America and YOU ask me what's wrong about some fucking numbers about Punk Vance?
DU is better than your response.

(51,767 posts)You miss the point.
Vance's toxic hypocrisy kills women in need of reproductive health care, takes freedom away from women, denies trans people the care they need, while Vance indulges in his own questioning of his own sexuality going all the way back to 8 years old.
The hypocrisy is the point and rubbing his nose in his two-faced hyper-moralism for you but not for him, rubbing his nose in his hypocrisy makes the point to voters.
That's my response. Obviously DU is better than I am, but you mean something else much more pejorative.

(1,365 posts)I agree completely about Vance and his hypocrisy.
But I do not agree that the most read and recommended posts at this site should be about something pretty insignificant right NOW.
I think we should focus on Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, not dumb fuck Vance, whatever he is.

(1,256 posts)People are treating the very serious MAGA threat as mere amusement, as entertainment, and it is on the level of middle school humor at that. Yes, you are right, there is something wrong with that.
Think. Again.
(19,790 posts)I think most true DUers are very well aware of the threat we all face, and after 8 years of this we're getting a little exhausted.
Think. Again.
(19,790 posts)Honestly, the identity breach seems old hat by now, my id has been breached and compromised 3 times before this, so maybe I'm just jaded about it though.

(91,031 posts)What exactly do you want people to post on the data breach. If someone replied saying it was not important or something else they disagreed with then it would get more replies.

(4,252 posts)I'm told I laugh like a baboon when I watch comedies, but that I get really quiet and introspective when I watch dramas.
I think I apply that to most messgae boards as well; I laugh like a baboon and act out when I read something funny, and I get really quiet and introspective when I read something of subtance and weight.

(51,767 posts)And yet somehow you think that the data breach post should have out-responded the 24 hour old thread.

Wait for the quantum encryption!
In my day we didn't have this stuff all.the time!
What is it to discuss?

(2,984 posts)You can also ignore any member who posts things you don't want to see.
What you can't do is make people stop posting stupid things, like the JD Vance thing, which I think is a borderline homophobic waste of time thing to do.
I agree, we should have better things to do.

(5,355 posts)I am noticing an odd mood. Not just here, but among my friends and elsewhere. What I keep thinking is that the mood for our party shifted so suddenly between the difficult weeks before Joe announced he wasn't running (and all that came before) and then the sudden and surprising highs of Harris/Walz. We might all be a little bit woozy, just adapting to change, each in our own way. Collectively, it feels kind of odd to me, but I think it's a natural phase. It has been a roller coaster.
We need the stability that Harris/Walz will provide.
