I have to be honest...

Last edited Wed Oct 2, 2024, 04:24 AM - Edit history (1)

when I saw Vance come straight out of the gate with his smary smile and his attempt to seduce the audience with his "gentleman charm", I thought, "oh, no, he's trying to appeal to the women voters." I've unfortunately, had a date or two with guys like this. They're good. And they know how to play the game to win over their prey. But, a snake always sheds his skin. And just like that snake that sheds his skin, he will bite once he's good and pissed off.

Tim Waltz isn't this kind of man. He's an honest, caring, down-to-earth kind of guy. Tim Waltz isn't wired like a snake. He's wired more like a Golden Retriever. That's why he's so likeable. I think in the debate beginning, Vance's "kindness" threw him off. Waltz has not seen this side of Vance. And all the, "we believe the same...", was only Vance "seducing" us and Waltz into his "gentleman's" web.

But, then Waltz did the "unthinkable". He put Vance on the spot, with that big question-- and it shook Vance to the core. It was so obvious the tide had turned. I could see the way Vance stammered and began with his gaslightling.

Vance is a very deceitful, dangerous man. I've heard rumors that he is really a Trojan Horse for the repubs. While I hope this isn't true, it isn't something to totally ignore. With these bastards, anything can happen--as we have already seen.

About being wired like a golden retriever. 🥰

Being seen as slick is not a good thing. People inherently distrust slicksters.

Like everyone but Trump’s most devoted MAGA worshippers, Republican leaders know that Trump’s delusions are getting worse and if elected, the 25th Amendment can be used to remove him and install their guy Vance. It’s not too hard to believe that Vance is a hundred times worse than Trump. Trump only cares about himself. Vance wants to change the country into a dictatorship where his brand of religion is the law and women, children, minorities, and LGBTQ+ have no rights. He is also beholden to the tech industry through Peter Thiel and will allow big tech to do anything it wants without regulations to protect people from their intrusion.

Trump was stupid to choose Vance because he will not be the subservient VP that Pence was.

You explained what I was trying to say about the "Trojan Horse" thing, so good! I'll try to find the link where I read about it. I've never really been a Conspiracy Theorist, but this niggled at me.

Something to keep an eye on. You're right though, Vance has made it clear he hates women and has very troubling views.

In fact, it's been posted here on DU at least twice that I've seen, if not more.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, either, but I'm prone to believe the Trojan Horse theory. Primarily because Republicans, imo, want 2025 so bad they can taste it.

They've been working on this goal for decades. Seriously, we can travel as far back to the FDR era; pre WWII. Remember General Smedley Butler: wealthy members of the business community recruited him for an insurrection against FDR in 1933. Fortunately for America their fascism attempt failed. And, hopefully they'll fail again this time around.

TFG was/is a good vehicle to divide our country. His ability to tap into what is his base. True believers. Primed to listen to, and repeat each lie or rationale TFG spouts. He's even "taught" them to be violent. TFG and his Maggats frighten regular, positive thinking Americans through not only violence but through bullying, intimidation, threats to them or their families, including gun-toting men with shotguns. Hell, some even plotted to kidnap and kill my Governor (Whitmer, Michigan).

The Powers that Be has put up with TFG's bullshit and rhetoric because he's the vehicle to gain the White House, along with the help of changing to unfair laws, cheating, and let's throw in Putin.

If they win, and of course TFG continues to deteriorate, he's going to have to go. But I'm not sure the 25th Amendment would safely work.

His Maggats would revolt from betrayl. All hell would break loose.

I'm thinking he'd either have to become very ill, or die for Vance to be accepted. Even then the conspiracy theories will be in full swing, along with a few fists.

I know I'm just rambling. I don't post much, and when I do, it's nothing like one, lol.

because she was in an abusive relationship. He was innoculating himself against the fact he said married women should stay in abusive relationships.

Whole thing was a performance.

Snakes get a bad rap. They are very cool! :

https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/garter-snakes-form-friendships-180974882/

(I have for some time had a theory that because humans like to exploit the natural world/nonhuman animals we denigrate animal cognition. That type of justification of animal exploitation is more based in dominion theology than anything scientific imo. Animal cognition is much deeper and richer than human society acknowledges. We might have to seriously reconsider our relationship with the natural world if we acknowledged that.).

Back on topic, Vance is more like a (stout) mosquito!
