We remember his famous quote about voting and voters....."...our leverage in the election quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down."
Well guess what? Early voting shows a significant number of voters, participating in early voting. And where the party of the early voter is known, Democrats are voting in larger numbers than Republicans.
Donald, ya better get yourself measured and fitted for a new orange jump suit.

(28,656 posts)Moderate Republicans need to recreate themselves in s new Party system that is essentially "not trump". But that takes a decade to build out. Meanwhile, I hope to see an evenly split vote between the Trumpublican Party and the "wtf happened to our Party?" people.

(28,834 posts)Usually significantly so. This cycle is nothing new in that regard. We need to have a significant edge there, because the reverse is true for election day, when the GOP usually has the edge. That's why I don't get too excited when early voting shows us ahead. The lead needs to withstand the GOP push on election day.
Part of that edge is the GOP's fault. They've been dissuading their supporters from early and mail-in voting for a very long time and have only recently figured out that that was pretty stupid.

2016 ___ 40% ___________ 40-45% _________ 35-40% ___________ 15-20%
Notes:
2000 and 2004: Early voting was lower and leaned Republican in most places.
2008 and 2012: Early voting increased dramatically, with Democrats taking the lead, thanks to Obamas campaign efforts.
2016: Early voting became more evenly split, with Republicans catching up, especially in swing states.

Looking forward to Newtee-toot-toot and (you know who). Oh, and The Turtle. 50/50, I might make it to rejoice about Sammy and Clarence.
Unfortunately, I probably won't be alive to see Stephen Miller off. I'm 82.
I could spend all day, composing a list of shit-hooks. But it's a beautiful Sunday. Gotta go spend it with my grandson. He wants to learn about photography. I wish Boz, Mousetoe, McGovern and Peggy lived nearby. I would offer to pay them for lessons for the kid. Their stuff is better than anything I do.
