Do we think the state government would certify the vote, or have they rigged it in order to tell where all the liberal votes were coming from and how to put a stop to Harris carrying a conservative state.

(3,892 posts)He lost Texas by about 250,000 votes. Attorney General Ken Paxton invalidated over 4 million mail-in votes, most of them from heavily Democratic areas, and bragged about it later. So yeah, in a fair election, she probably could win Texas, but I don't think Paxton will allow it to happen. The nice thing is, I'm pretty sure all their dirty tricks are on the front end, to KEEP people from voting. I don't think they have anything in place to invalidate the votes AFTER they've been cast. So if she ends up ahead in the voting in Texas, I don't see them being able to steal it on the back end.
In Florida, I think she has a puncher's chance. It's close there, and there's a marijuana legalization measure on the ballot that will likely drive a lot of young turnout. Can't remember whether there's an abortion issue on the ballot too. These kinds of things being on the ballot will increase turnout, which is always good for Democrats (that's why I'm feeling optimistic about holding Arizona--they've got an abortion measure on the ballot that they're saying will pass easily). Plus, from what I'm hearing, the hurricane may depress turnout in some heavy Republican areas.

(16,077 posts)I can't tell you which people in which states would do which, but they won't all make the same decisions. They each evaluate the risk/reward differently, even in situations where their actions seem nonsensical or self-harmful to an outsider. They've each got their own slightly different delusions, motives, goals. You know that saying "all politics is local" well so is all nuttery.

(3,274 posts)Is Paxton will be shi..ing out lawsuits no matter what. Lawsuits against blue areas, against other states, and against the federal government. He already has some out there. But probably have some waiting in the wings ready to go.
