I gotta new name for the Morning Joe Show...

Ya know, years ago it was 'Scarborough Country", now it's 'Morning Joe'...someone once suggested that he have another show so we can find out what his middle name is...but for now:

"The Sanctimonious. Self-aggrandizing, Self-congratulating Show starring Starbucks Joe"

If I hear him say how he ran for office in the most conservative district in three dimensions, that he voted with Democrats and talked to them, that Ronnie Reagan was the greatest American who ever lived, that he thinks the President is a good husband and father (like he should know about the former at least), that he came into Congress with the Contract with America heroes...

Pukeworthy...

And please don't tell me to switch the channel, I don't get Current TV here....thanks in advance.

Even on days when Joe is not sitting there in his workout clothes, leaning back and acting Superior, Mika will do me in.

Looking and acting like a startled parrot, re-mouthing whatever platitude reigns, or expounding on whatever subject has been beaten to it's last breath, I want to go take a shower every time I see or hear her.
It's basically all a waste of bandwidth, time and spit.
Theirs, and mine.

And to top it all off there are the photographs of Mika and Joe sauntering through urban America.
Tacky and Tasteless.

I began to suspect they had after a few episodes. She agreed after watching about a minute of interaction...

She is a radical pro-lifer. She had a major crush on Sarah Palin four years ago.

Her role is to pretend to be a liberal so when she agrees with Joe, he can say, 'See even a liberal like Mika thinks I'm right'.

Her act is a total con job. Don't fall for it.

but that might be over-kill.

Even his whiney, cajoling voice gets on my last nerve. And his platitudinous bromides are nauseatingly predictable.

Can you imagine being stuck at a dinner party or other social gathering, where you were obliged to interact politely with this blustering braggart?

I like it when language is used so well.
When I first learned English my objective was to not have to have jokes explained to me, and to be able to do crosswords.
I got that far.
My new objective is to learn more words from you.

some spontaneity in English, as I work and live in a French-speaking environment where I hear English butchered on a daily basis.

If I understood correctly, English isn't your mother-tongue. Major props to you--you write better than most native speakers.

What is your native language and how did you learn English so well? What's your secret?

Thanks, by the way. I love compliments. The secret is longevity and perseverance.

Now I have to go see if I can tell where you are located.

OHHH- you are in Paris.
I love it for you, but for me, I can't stand the envy. I once paid for my Mom to take a train to Paris and I flew in, met her at the Gare du Nord and we spent 2 weeks there. A fulfillment of a dream for both of us.

and frustration, both at the same time.

At this season of the year, as in Germany, the days are so short that it can get you down. The sun only rises above the horizon between 9 or 10 a.m. and starts setting between 3 or 4 p.m.

Not good for people suffering from SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Not as cold as Germany, though. Paris' climate is tempered by the Atlantic which is only 200km away. I remember spending Weihnachten in München. Froze my Arsch off!

Did you know that the French are the most heavily medicated people in the world? More prescribed uppers and downers than anywhere else.

If it's not indiscrete, may I ask about your legal status? Do you have American or dual nationality or still only German? I'm a dual national--French-American.

I'm an American by choice. But during the election I inquired. I could have gotten my German citizenship back and could have moved back had Romney won.
Bush* was all I know I could handle. Barely survived him.

I know what you are saying about the weather and the cold. I was in Sarasota last week wading in the ocean, sleeveless. Germany was snowed in.
I'm from Augsburg - close to München.

Are you staying in gay Paree for good?

...this dude was further to the right than Gnewt...and tried to overthrow him. The only time he reached across the aisle was probably to try to pinch someone's behind. He was too toxic for the Florida rushpublicans who never considered him for Senate or any statewide office. The dude was basically run out of the beltway yet his delusions of who and what he was and is changes every morning.

You can see that he misses being in "the game" and inside thinks he's smarter than everyone. He's the new "Raygun"...working in broadcasting, like Ronnie did in his exile years of the 70s, in hopes that his fellow wingnuts will come a-callin' and beg for him to lead them to the promised land....
