"It's virtually certain at this point that we have. The official word will come from Mike Tate tomorrow at noon, but I'd advise Mr Walker to start gathering boxes. He can take his baseball bat out of OUR Governor's office as well.
Even though it appears we already have the signatures required, please keep gathering them. The more we have the stronger our message to his allies at the federal level and in other states becomes. We still have time to double the number required, which would mean an absolute guarantee that Walker is toast since 25% of the voters is the threshold. (Double is 50%, and would make his running again an exercise in futility.)
If even one of the four state Senators being recalled with him is also over it's threshold, it means that Wisconsin will be changing leadership in that body as well!!"

(30,811 posts)Al Capone had one of those, too. Capone once beat an associate to death with his bat.

(269,741 posts)Last night I ran into a colleague from Wisconsin - I mentioned Scott Walker and she told us that her mother - a big time union lady - is keeping her up to date. One of her school friends was also a victim as she didn't know whether she was going to receive her contract to teach. She eventually received her contract but what really pissed off her friend was that the relationship with teachers and parents has changed for ever as some of the ReTHUG parents are bringing their politics to one on one discussions with teachers.
She detests the fascist scumbag.
She also promised me more details on his expulsion from college over the campus election violation.

(17,258 posts)But remember, the recall only starts the process -- the election has to be won, too. Judging from the earlier recalls, there's only a 1/3 chance of that...

(13,570 posts)You can't directly compare the individual district State Senate recalls to this statewide recall because some of those senate districts are so red. But in fact those recalls, if you extrapolate and look at all the numbers, show that Dems turned over enough votes compared to 2010 to take out Walker in a STATEWIDE recall effort. Dems took back 2 state senate seats and flipped a lot of votes in some of the others. RePUKES know this and are scared shitless. Also, remember, the pukes tried to take down some Dems and lost. Of 9 total recall races, Dems won 5. However, yes, the governor recall election is going to be a TOUGH fight because the other side is going to spend millions of Koch dollars to hold on. But, if sentiment against that peckerhead Walker remains this negative, there is a very good chance to take his ass down with a strong grassroots campaign. The first step is to get collect signatures FAR beyond what is required, and the next step is to keep that army of volunteers going strong and knock on every door in the state at least twice. There is also going to have to be a fightback on TV. So they are going to need to fundraise as much as possible.

(12,041 posts)Some signatures will be thrown out inevitably so you need a good size cushion, saying you have enough may make many volunteers think they can stop collecting. I don't think there is much chance of doubling the required number of signatures, but I think 750,000 or even 800,000 is very possible and that would be a number that would make Walker crap his pants.
