When your car has damage but you can still drive it fine, do you fix it or take the insurance money?

I personally don't care what my car looks like so I have always taken the insurance money and paid off bills or put the money into retirement. What do you do?

I collect cars, motorcycles and old trucks.

We also farm. If someone bangs into a farm truck, I'll pocket the cash as long as the damage doesn't compromise the usefulness of the truck.

However, any of our older vehicles would be restored.

for a long time I fix it. Once it starts looking like shit it doesn't really matter.
