All the money that has been squandered on security and law enforcement

since 9-11 and these security pimps can't secure or protect shit.

My wife just said that all the money that was spent on security should have been spent instead on mental health services. I can't agree more.

ETA: On more mature reflection, all the money that was spent on the security and military pimps is a reflection of this society's mental illness.

1) repetition of a few basic details;

2) harmful to those involved, such as interviewing small children who've just seen their friends killed;

3) false, such as the quick id of 'ryan' lanza as shooter (also harmful, since ryan & his acquaintances/family apparently got flooded with hate messages via facebook and at their work)

4) creepy pop psychologists spouting off creepily

5) reportage of bullshit like "they died because they didn't love god"

it's a creepy for-profit spectacle. i watched for about 10 minutes and that was plenty.

drive and for the life of me I do not understand why we do not do the same for those who wish to own a firearm.

No one has a problem with society requiring its citizens to pass tests to drive.

My first thought was that repukes want to cut the salaries of those teachers and cops who were protecting those kids.

personnel strutting around looking important. And watching the national networks fellate law enforcement, going so far as to call them 'heroes.'

The fact is that none of the $$$ spent on security and law enforcement prevented one fucking thing today. In my book, that means it was a colossal waste of money, unless all the 1% want to do is create the 'appearance' of security.

Today's law enforcement is great when it comes to bashing the heads of peaceful, non-violent Occupy protesters. Not so good when it comes to putting their own lives on the line to actually save anyone. Translation: today's law enforcement are a bunch of paramilitary mercenary chickenshits, enforcers for the 1% but not worth a shit in any other significant respect.

The teachers showed way more bravery today than any law enforcement person. The teachers were the real heroes today. Law enforcement today= EPIC FAIL!
