Apparently Chevron has managed to "cure" AIDS..and BP has made "the Gulf" the best place on earth

I know this is horribly off-topic for today, but is anyone else sick to death of being subjected to all the ads from our oily-pals?

They apparently are majorly interested in educations...and health....and tourism..and BP is sooooooooooo "generous" with the USA USA USA...

It truly sickens me every time I see one of their fluffy ads.. all that's missing is cute little bunnies/kittens/ducklings (no sea birds..they're too reminiscent of the oiled birds we all remember)..

The have managed (along with our deadly-drug-pals), to create full employment for marimba players ..

If we are going to hold companies accountable for their criminal actions, we have to adhere to truth ourselves.

I most likely wouldn't know it.

I do wonder how much of their millions spent on commercials touting their cleaning and restoration efforts could actually have been better used either cleaning/restoring the Gulf or to help those multitudes of people devastated by the calamity?

People buy gasoline based on what's close to their commute..Ads for oil companies are ALL about propaganda to "convince" us that they are altruistic, benevolent "good guys" who would NEVER EVER EVER harm any of us or our environment.

That money is "wasted" on "chim-chim-cherie" ads

we have to realistically look at what they are claiming and give them credit for success, while pushing them to do more. Chevron's claim is that it's program on AIDS for it's Nigerian employees has had a large impact on infection rates among it's employees, it didn't claim to have saved Nigeria, or the world. BP is claiming that the four states that were affected by it's massive oil spill are having good tourism traffic, it didn't claim that all oil that was spilled is cleaned up.

If you want to challenge their claims, do so with facts. If you know that their claims are inaccurate, present information that refute those claims.

BP or Chevron?

It's propaganda...pure and simple.. inference, coupled with cheery people and schmaltzy upbeat music works.. The ad people have been living high-on-the-hog for decades, churning out this stuff..

Oil sheen grows on top of gulf waters. The Deep horizon well head may have a "slow" leak!

They lie through their teeth. I want to see them eat shrimp and lobster, and go swimming. And go deep, I want them to see all the oil that sank. Companies that have disasters like this, should lose their business if they can't clean it ALL up within a week.
