I have a grandson I will hug with a fierceness tomorrow that might scare him

but I need it. You never know when who you love and cherish will be taken from you.

Hug your children tonight, hug them tomorrow, and every day after. Tell them you love them every time you say good night because you do not know when it will be the last time you will see them, hold them, kiss them.

Don't scare him. Kids are innocent for a short enough time as it is. MADem Dec 2012 #1

Just be glad to see him and give him a regular hug when you see him, and a regular hug when he or you leaves.

Children pick up on stuff--no reason to make the child fearful. You might make him think YOU'RE dying.
