I'll take the NRA for 2,000 Alex

48 people in Japan
8 in Great Britain
34 in Switzerland
52 in Canada
58 in Israel
21 in Sweden
42 in West Germany

AND

10,728 in the great USA.

What is the major factor which explains the chasm between death by handguns in the USA and other developed countries?

you see armed guards. Anywhere kids play has 12 foot barbed wire around it with armed guards. In Great Britain you can't own a gun, also if someone breaks in your house and you hit them with a frying pan you will go to jail. In Britain the law protects you, in the US the law only protects the person that they arrest. If you call the law and say there is someone breaking in your house, the law is not required to come, it is up to you to protect yourself. That is why they will never be able to take the guns from the people that have them. Google "is the law required to protect you" and you should see the court case that states what I have written. There were women being raped upstairs and the lady downstairs called the law, several times, they never came the rapist got the lady that was downstairs and took her upstairs and raped them for 12-14 hours, the women sued the police, the police won the case because they are not required to protect anyone except who they arrest.
