You know, there has been little talk of mental health reform.

I know that many are out their right now that is not getting their meds due to legislation from the Bush era.
It is not that they don't want them, they just can't afford it.

I bring this up due to the events of this day. Do we know what was going on in the way of the shooters mental state? Was he under treatment? Was he able to get help? Was he able to get enough help?

Is there help out there? Yes, some. But their are loops holes that allows people to fall through. We need to fix those.

Sad to say, we must stop this thing before they go for the guns or bombs or even Hijacking a truck and driving it in to something.

While we are looking at gun control, lets look at providing affordable and reachable mental health to. Let us move a bill to make it easier to get.

Many on meds feel that the meds mess them up far more than they help them. This of course is probably not true, but that's how it goes in their minds.

When you see a Nurse Practitioner every 3 months, the problems with the meds don't always get address.

Now, if a person had more contact with a professional that they can help with the meds, that problem can go down.

But to do that, and to do it soon, needs government help.

We spend all our time and energy debating about health insurance to fix our physical problems. But everyone ignores mental health.

Unfortunatelty the ones who get money from the pieces of shit at the NRA are the same ones trying to block further expanding both healthcare and mental healthcare.

So you can say that if the NRA likes you, you are an asshole on multiple fronts.

Where was his back-up? If we make health care better he would have had people checking his living conditions. Make sure they were safe. If not, find a safer place for him and those kids that are dead now.
Get him stable. Give him a life and save others. We could have had no story if there was better health care.

Look at each person and help them. No case is the same. Every three month for 15 minutes is not good enough. And they are all looked at the same way, Why? Not enough time with the patent!

Republicans and gun nuts keep weakening regulations. Hence, there are more killings.

In a state like Vermont, you can just walk in and buy a gun! You can go to a gun show and just hand over your cash, and buy guns.
Is that any kind of legislation?
I don't think so.

Besides, this country has a sick fantasy with violence and guns.
In film, video games, in the media, they are all enthralled with guns and violence.
All you have to do is watch TV, and the hero will be the one with the biggest gun, shooting down the bad guys.
Guns shouldn't be a substitute for proper genitalia.
And they should be regulated.

Why do people keep IGNORING the part of the Second Amendment that states, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State?" Why is is conveniently ignored?

No, it's not about mental health, it's about the imagery that is being foisted upon people from the media, the LACK of legislation in some places, and the NRA, and other pro-gun lobbyists.

If it's not, I want my shoulder mounted, laser guided tactical nuclear rocket. I swear I don't want to kill anyone, I just want some L-O-N-G range target shooting! It's the same thing! It's a form of arms, and if you have the right to bear arms, why not nuclear arms?

in this country. Can't afford the therapy your kid needs? Well ... sucks to be you. Should've got a better job.

Can't afford meds? Same thing.

Hell. Some plans actually discriminate against mental health issues by not covering them at all.

And, of course, our overall culture is pretty toxic. Half the country is dragging the other half down.
