Terrorism?

I think it's strange and alarming how accustomed we've become to viewing everything through the lens of terrorism. Personally, I find it difficult to accept our new collective mindset is the natural result of the experience of 9/11, and not something that's been deliberately shaped and directed (but that's another discussion...). As far as reaction to the school shooting is concerned, I'm sensing a dangerous pattern where more and more we are conflating domestic crimes with acts of terror, and instead of examining the root causes of these events, opting to rely on an ever-more invasive "security" apparatus to address them. IMO if we keep this up it wont be long until our daily lives resemble a continuous airport check in.
