with the injured and dying because you are working as hard as possible to save lifes - it's the aftermath that you wall off. I did this as an EMT and LE officer before the days anyone knew about post traumatic stress syndrome. It's the families and loved ones that need the most help as well as the loss of the feeling of community safety.
I guess no one will ever be back to what was considered normal prior to this awfulness.(including the EMTs)

They risk so much doing what they do and being there for us when we need it most. I hope they are able to get the support they need.
