When I Was In Vietnam We Used To Joke About Wearing Our Helmets And Flak ----

jackets after we got home as well as sandbagging our bedrooms. Today that idea does not seem like a joke anymore.

I never thought I would see my country so nuts and crazy and twisted. To think that teachers, first responders and others would need helmets, flak jackets and combat pay just to do a job or go anywhere is terrifying really.

I have to congratulate the GOP and the media hate machine for being so effective these days. Even if we cannot find any direct link to this violence or understand the motives of this gun man we have to wonder if this incident is just a prelude to bigger storms. That is unless we change our ways, our attitudes and our national mind sets.
