We are all affected by the "national traumas" that occur and are shared both in the media and the national press. 2012 has had a lot of them. Which one was "the worst" for you? How did it impact your life? What have you done "differently" because of it?

(20,600 posts)I was rather distressed by the movie theater shooting (I'm a movie buff and go to the movies a lot) but this massacre of kids in Conn. is truly shocking and unprecedented.

(10,559 posts)I was also impacted by the movie shooting. We saw "The Hobbit" last night, and thought about it. There is an alertness in the movie theater that I didn't have before...
But my twins are 5 years old. I believe enough sacrifices have been made, and now I intend to do do something. Ideas have been going through my head since the movie theater incident, and now I think I have some ideas - fun times ahead, especially because I live in Michigan!
