Time for the media to play razzle dazzle with the 'facts'. They start by definitively stating a 'fact', then gainsay it later with another definite 'fact'.

(maybe on the Today show, I don't remember, but I only get NBC so it was definitely NBC)

the superintendent of the school district say the mother was NOT an employee of the school district, but she may have been a volunteer or a substitute teacher.

I did hear just now that she owned even more guns. She was a stay at home mom always. Was always financially taken care of by her wealthy husband, was given the expensive home in the divorce with no contention. Husband paid her $250,000 a year . He is a financial analyst. She apparently took her children to shooting ranges to teach them to use the guns she stored in her home.

Lots of factual haze in place and the media is filling in the holes with less than factual material. I would be willing to have less "news" but more accurate data even if it is a few hours later.

For the short term it is time to tend to victims, we don't need to have updates every 5 minutes to do that.
