Lanza reportedly in altercation at school day before shooting

NBC’s Pete Williams has more information on a report that Connecticut school shooter Adam Lanza may have been involved in an altercation with staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary one day before the murders.

2. Well, this is interesting

He killed three of the four staff members he had the altercation with and the fourth one wasn't at school that day so can be questioned about what this altercation was all about. I just can't figure out why he would be going to the school in order to get into this altercation int he first place though and how killing his mother all factor's into this.

Wasn't it said in earlier reports that he had a child himself?

3. That's because...

...when the police arrived at the scene, there was apparently another person or persons who were detained. When people flee a shooting, the shooter may leave the weapon and flee along with the other people who are fleeing. Hence, the police don't know if the shooter is among them. There was at least one person wearing a leather jacket and camo pants whom the police detained at the scene, and who was reported to have been saying "I didn't do it." He was apparently a parent.

So what happens, in early reports, is that other people who saw him being detained tell others they saw a parent being detained and this morphs into the assumption he was the shooter, and the shooter was a parent.

There was no early report that Adam Lanza had a child at the school. There was an early report that the "shooter" had a child at the school, apparently based on the police having detained a fleeing parent.

also have a private practice with Adam as a patient? It is a small community. Just wondering.
