Teachers are first responders, too

Whether it's for our children's safety or future, they sacrifice themselves. What happened in CT showed the lengths to which they would protect those in their charge. They deserve to be paid, equipped, and trained accordingly.

I can't even count the number of times I guarded my high school kids in dark hallways while severe storms and tornadoes shook the entire building... or when blizzards and sheets of ice kept us after school until 5 or 6 o'clock. or when I took them to Europe and kept them safe for weeks at a time. Or taking them to tournaments, driving through dangerous floods.

Yes, teachers are a lot more than republicans would have you believe. They just want to bust unions.
