Yesterday, I was shocked by and then mourned the horrible events in Newtown, Connecticut. Today, I took a step to fight back against the gun lobby.

I'm rather under-employed, but I have a hard time not doing anything to help my voice be heard in the halls of power. I didn't really need to kick in for the departmental Christmas Party. I don't feel much like celebrating this holiday season and especially not after yesterday. It'll get better, friend.

My son has had unexpected medical problems this month. But it turns out that he is going to be OK. And I got to bake a birthday cake for my daughter today, which a bunch of families will never be able to do again because we let crazies run around with guns. So I donate in their memory. I will march too, when that gets organized.
