Quote of the Day
"This time our response must consist of more than regret, sorrow, and condolence. The children of Sandy Hook Elementary School and all victims of gun violence deserve leaders who have the courage to participate in a meaningful discussion about our gun laws - and how they can be reformed and better enforced to prevent gun violence and death in America. This can no longer wait."
-- Mark Kelly, the husband of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ), on Facebook.

(2,522 posts)1. Agree completely.
This might be an area where Big Willy can help out. I think he got the Brady Bill signed--maybe he can assist on this.

(14,656 posts)2. I agree but how? The killer in this case got his mother' guns. How do we
legislate for irresponsible behavior (of the mother)?

(80,708 posts)4. Why the fuck does anyone legitimately need a stockpile of these?
To "hunt"? For "self defense"? No. Only because you're a fucking Alex Jones, Black Helicopter Nutbaggo, or have some other serious fucking issue.

(14,656 posts)7. People must have 'issues' if they feel the need for a cache of these weapons
or that they are the future armed insurrection. I don't know.

(80,708 posts)8. Yeah. Except I wouldn't even put issues in quotes.
I think fantasizing you're part of some future armed insurrection is an issue in and of itself.

(120 posts)3. Americans have always had the freedom to face adversity
and make everyone's life better. What truly defines us, we don't seek or need permission from the wealthy overlords, the church, or the goddam NRA, especially to protect our children!
