(8,646 posts)I can't even escape it on Canadian news, it's been on every night. Although, on the bright side, the Canadian news also played President Obama singing yesterday about 150 times. I guess that's their 'balance' ? lol.

(205,320 posts)Who do I wish would run against Obama? The one I can't stand hearing least. None of them is a winner, but in the unlikely event that it's Newt, I don't think I could stand to watch.

(26,355 posts)I already know I'm not voting for any of those douches. I just want to watch them humiliate themselves.

(111,255 posts)and you'll start to miss those overstuffed popinjays because at least they didn't shovel diarrhea at you all the time, only if you tuned in to them specifically.
I think a lot of sets will have been off for weeks by November.

(37,648 posts)but this is ridiculous. I finally quit watching. I can see having about six, each focusing on a different topic. But they're having like 18! Covering the same areas over and over. They're more like reality shows than serious debates.

(11,175 posts)What they say in the debates is much less important than what the media report. That's what most people will see.
Some important statements won't attract much notice, but that means that they aren't politically important. I'm grateful for DU posts that call attention to such hidden gems.
The Republicans who watch the debates (to help them decide how to vote) will form their own impressions of the candidates, but I wouldn't know what those are just from watching. My impressions would be greatly different. The media are better than I am at figuring out how Republicans will react to a debate.

(31,516 posts)concerned about is the one who wins the nomination. Then I'll pay attention. Besides, I already know who I'm voting for and it's none of the people on that stage.
