So the Myans were right

-Plan "B" Fails
-A Dem President is willing to cut SS
-the NRA will create an armed force to guard schools
-weathers shuts down a large area of the county--again
-Syria is dropping cluster bombs and launching SCUDs at its own people

It is the end of the world. They just didn't tell us it would be a slow death

They were masters of speaking metaphorically.

As in "you will witness the end of society as you know it."

It is interesting that we do seem to be reaching a major turning point -- the end of the "Reagan Era", if you will.

Pendulum shift is not an apt metaphor. The pendulum never returns to its original place. I am not sure that the end of the Reagan Era is necessarily a better place.
