UNION GAP, Wash. Kokatat Inc., a paddlesports gear manufactuer, has selected Liberty Bottleworks for its first American Made Outdoor Gear Award.
The Union Gap company was chosen from a field of more than 50 American outdoor gear manufacturers for the award, which recognizes efforts to build products in the United States.
Liberty Bottleworks, which employs 23 workers, will be recognized during the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City and take position of the Sassy trophy, a hand-carved, 3-foot tall redwood Sasquatch.

UNION GAP, Wash. A Union Gap company is marking the two-year anniversary of its first delivery today.
Liberty Bottleworks, which produces aluminum water bottles, sent its first shipment Dec. 31, 2010, to Seattle-based REI. Liberty now offers its products through more than 2,000 retail outlets and has sent out more than a half-million bottles, founder Tim Andis said.
Liberty was recognized earlier this month as the inaugral recipient of Kokatat Inc.s American Made Outdoor Gear Award.

(1,754 posts)1. Great bottles
I own a couple of their bottles and highly recommend them. They are great! As far as I am aware, they're the only company to produce aluminum bottles in the US.
