Good Morning, DU:

I want to thank you for all the support. It means more to me than I can say.

Yesterday, I was in Albany, at the Capital Building. There was a rally, before meetings with elected officials. A couple of state Senators and Assemblemen/women addressed the crowd of about 750. Then I had the opportunity to. Josh Fox, who made "Gasland," spoke after me; I was so tired that I had to go sit down during his speech, and missed it.

Anyhow. As I tend to do, I spoke about our Constitutional democracy. About Amendment 1, and the right and the responsibility to "petition the Government for a redress of grievances." In that is the implicite responsibility of elected officials to be open to, and respond to, those citizens who seek to communicate.

I said that in my daughters' high school, students were writing LTTE and taking up a petition, telling Senator Libous that this situation wasn't what they were learning about in social studies classes. That it was instead an uncivil civics lesson in government. I said that I realized that Senator Libous had initially considered me a thorn in his heel, but that now it was becoming infected.

Later in the day, Senator Libous agreed to meet with me. After that, I met with two of his top staff people. Not perfect, but not bad. Not bad, at all.

I have doctors' appointments this morning and this afternoon. Then I'm hoping to have an opportunity to spend some time here.

Again, thank you so much for your support. I hope that I can repay the debt.

Peace,
Pat

I am so proud to follow your efforts and dedication to this cause. I am just awe struck at your stand.

I'm also very relieved to see that you are checking in with your physician during this hunger strike. By now, I'd imagine that you aren't feeling the intense pangs of hunger anymore, given ketosis does kick in within a few days, but may well be feeling a bit weak. Please take care of yourself. Above all.

for giving Senator Libous a lesson in how democracy is meant to work!

A man who walks the walk instead of just talking the talk is a treasure to his community, and that is YOU Pat.

Good luck with your docs visits today.

Congratulations on finally being heard!

You were very brave to take such a stand! Defending the very elements which give us life is not an easy task these days, with the ruiners of the realm busy taking advantage of a failing economy. We need to unite No Fracking Way, worldwide, and put an immediate stop to all poisonous hydro-fracturing...build solidarity with every single locale that has found itself under attack by those greedy destructive bastards and demand that every voice be heard.

Your action has been an inspiration to us all.

Thank you and may your dedication spark and spread across our country, now, before it is too late!

From a distance and only getting a brief chance to read the basics I have to say the fact that

you were so committed not to a position but to a dialogue, about communicating, about bridging across

positions and building on relations I was struck that it was very Obamaesque in its goals, very Ali in its courage, very

Ghandi in its methodology, and very Mandela in its tone.

I am guessing that you just saw it as very 'Waterman' but then I never knew your mentor.

When you are right then persist in dialogue without wavering and you will eventually be successful. Not in every detail but

you will have great influence.
